As the son of a preacher, I have roots in many places. While I was born in San Antonio, I spent most of my elementary years in East Texas. I was baptized by my dad in Palestine, Texas. Then in junior high, we moved to Iowa where I graduated high school. Every summer, teens from across the state would meet at Midwest Bible Camp, and it was there that I met my wife, Carolyn. We lived in York, Nebraska, for a couple of years, attending York College, and then we moved to Lubbock, Texas. I graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a B.A. in Bible. After graduation, we moved to Springfield, Missouri, to work with the East Grand Church of Christ, where we stayed for almost eleven years. During that time I transitioned from youth ministry to community outreach to preaching. When we moved to Springfield, Carolyn was six months pregnant with our first daughter, Laura. Over the subsequent years, we had two more children—Andrew and Taylor. Also, while in Springfield, I had the opportunity to earn my Masters of Divinity. I am currently working on my Doctor of Ministry at Abilene Christian University. I have only been at Cinco Ranch a short time (since March of 2007), but already I am excited about what I see God doing. Cinco Ranch identifies itself as a place for belonging, and having recently been a newcomer, I can confirm that to be true. Our people are committed to loving all who come & welcoming them into our church family. But beyond the sense of belonging, Cinco Ranch is dedicated to honoring God by helping others know him. It is our goal that through this congregation of believers our community with find connection with our Creator. We look forward to you joining us on our journey to become more like Jesus! |
